In order to try to improve the style and content of our website we’ve made a few changes. These changes will continue to be made over the next few days. The previous content is still available as before.
We now have a date for completion of construction. Building on site will start a.s.a.p. and the project should begin on 31st August 2019. In the meantime the Winter Night Shelter will remain open until the completion date.
Paul Samuels, who has been the parish Steward of the Gospel for sometime now, is joined by Clare D’Netto who will help with the Parish Group strategy, for the diocesan plan for Renewal and Re-Development. We welcome her to this important ministry and hope you will pray for her and the diocesan plan.
Our parishioners were involved in a live Crib/Nativity Drama today (22nd December, 2018) and if you missed the live stream of the event you can view the recording here: https://www.churchservices.tv/ilford/archive/uploads/7LDdwxre1Y
On the 29th July Project Malachi – a multi-faith initiative led by the Salvation Army – was launched to provide accommodation and support for those who find themselves homeless. It is a five year project supported by Redbridge Council which will be situated on the site of the, now demolished, Gilderson’s Funeral Directors in Chadwick Road. Besides accommodation units, it will also include support services for employment, addiction issues and life skills, as well as encouraging independence and healthy living.

Our Stewards of the Gospel programme is beginning to take shape so keep an eye out for events and announcements. We will be inaugurating the Parish Council later in the year and our Youth Ministry is gaining momentum with a youth team of three adults who will be working with our young people before and after Confirmation. Please pray for these initiatives that they may bear fruit for the ‘New Evangelisation’ within our diocese.
On the First Sunday of Advent, the Bene Merenti medal and certificate were presented to Suzanne Riley for her tireless commitment to the parish as an Organist, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, Catechist and Teacher. As always, in receiving this award she was entirely self effacing.
The certificate reads:
Francis, Supreme Pontiff,
making use of his power to honour by this mark of distinction
has seen fit to give and bestow a medal for excellence
established for whoever is exceedingly well deserving in Christian matters
on Suzanne Riley.
